Getting around
Compared to other cities in the UK, London is massive. The best way to find your way around London is by public transport - either on a London Bus or the London Underground (Tube). The public transport system is quick and reliable, if not rather overcrowded during the morning and afternoon rush hours. Avoid driving if you can as you will spend all of your time stuck in traffic,

There is so much to do when you are visiting London; far too much for a few lines on the Serviced City Pads website to do justice. What you get up to will also depend on how long you are visiting London for and how adventurous you are feeling. Here are just a few of the things you might want to see during your stay in London:
*London Eye. For the best aerial views of London. Perched on the bank of the River Thames. Book in advance. Tel: 0870 500 0600. You can walk here from a number of tube stations including Waterloo, Charing Cross, Emabnkment and Westminster.
*Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Don't miss these iconic buildings - the home of English democracy. Just a short stroll along the river. Nearest tube station is Westminster.
*Madame Tussauds. Home to a multitude of famous waxworks. Situated next to Baker Street tube station. Call to book tickets in advance and aoid the horrendous queues.
*Tower of London. Home to the Crown Jewels, and rather heavily secured. The nearest tube station is Tower Hill. Book tickets online.
*Tower Bridge. A fantastic structure that spans the River Thames.
*Buckingham Palace. Home to the Queen.
If you are venturing away from Central London you might consider heading west to Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace. Also, the views back to the city are great from the tranquil surroundings of Ruichmond Park.

- Cabinet War Rooms. This is a tremendous underground experience of what it was like to have worked for the government during World War 2 (tours last approx 90 minutes). Nearest tube station is Westminster. Tickets can be booked online.
- British Museum. Free entry. Nearest tube stations are Tottenham Court Road and Russell Square. Tel: 0207 323 8000.
- Natural History Museum.
- Victoria and Albert Museum. Free entry apart from major exhibitions. Situated on Cromwell Road, South Kensington. Nearest tube station is South Kensington. Tel: 0207 942 2000.
- Science Museum
-National Gallery. Free entry. This art gallery is situated in Trafalgar Square. Nearest tube stations are Charing Cross, Embankment and Leicester Square. Tel: 0207 747 2885.
Shopping
London is a shopping mecca. There are a number of districts and streets where you will be able to find your favourite designers; antiques and foods:
*Knightsbridge - home to Harrods and Harvey Nichols (nearest tube station Knightsbridge)
*Regent Street, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street. From Department stores to the home of the swinging 60's. Walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station towards Oxford Circus.
*Bond Street. If is is designer boutiques that you are looking for then head straight to Bond Street. Nearest tube station is Bon Street.
*Borough Market. For foodies who love to smell, see and try an amazing variety of foods. Nearest tube stations are Borough and London Bridge.
Other area of interest are Covent Garden / Kings Road (Chelsea are - nearest tube station is Sloane Square), Camden Market in North London thrives on Sundays.
