Newquay is a seaside resort situated on the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall and is well known as a major tourist destination and the surf capital of the UK. It has a wonderful laid back charm with plenty of beaches in the area to choose from. It's the perfect holiday destination for families and has recently come into its own with younger groups as well.

Surfing

Newquay is famous for its surfing culture and is the centre of the surfing industry in the UK.

There are many surfing shops, schools and manufacturers in the area.

Fistral Beach is Newquay's premier surfing spot and has a reputation as the best beach break in Cornwall. It has hosted several international surfing competitions.

Other good Newquay surfing spots include Town, Great Western and Tolcarne beaches.

Aside from surfing, Newquay is a great place to head to for sport related activities.

Cycling is very popular in Newquay and there are plenty of cycling routes to choose from including the Cornish Way, the St. Piran Trail, the Camel Trail, the Engine House Trail and the Coast and Clay Trail. Restaurants

Kahuna restaurant is based on Tolcarne beach, right next to our Tolcarne beach apartments. Serving all the favourites along with roast dinners and barbeques to boot. It's a favourite with both the locals and the tourists.

The Beached Lamb Cafe is another favourite in the area, particulary famous for its milkshakes and large selection of vegetarian/vegan food.

Rossi's Pizza is definitely worth a visit, renowned for it's excellent customer service and delicious pizzas.

The Headland Hotel Restuarant has fantastic views and freshly cooked, locally supplied food.

Nightlife

Newquay's nightlife is lively with everything from chilled bars to traditional pubs. The nightclubs also often play host to Radio 1 DJs.
