Champions League apartments in Manchester and Liverpool

The draw for the group stages of this years (2009/10) Champions League football competition have been relatively kind to both Manchester United and Liverpool FC.

The UEFA Champions League is the biggest, and certainly the most lucrative club competition in world football and probably the most popular. TV audiences are spread across the globe. Barcelona are the current holders of the famous European Cup and are aiming to defend the trophy this season.

Manchester United FC have been drawn in the harder group and will have to play CSKA Moscow of Russia, Besiktas of Turkey and German champions Wolfsburg. Clearly a lot of travelling for the English champions but they will be favourites to progress as winners of their group.

Liverpool FC have an easier group and will play home and away legs versus Lyon, Fiorentina and Debrecen.

When either team plays champions league matches at their respective home grounds (Anfield, Liverpool and Old Trafford, Manchester) accommodation in Manchester and Liverpool (whether it is hotels in Manchester or apartments in Liverpool) is at a premium and books up very quickly.

The Hilton Hotel Deansgate, Manchester

It would be fair to say that the Hilton hotel Deasnsgate Manchester which stands proudly at one end of Deansgate is Manchester’s premier iconic structure. Amazingly, this Manchester hotel was built by a Liverpool property developer!

The Beetham Tower is 47 storeys high and is the second tallest structure in the UK. The building is effectively split into 3 parts: 1. Residential apartments that make up floors 24-47 – famous residents include footballers such as Phil Neville; 2. Cloud 23 restaurant and bar; 3. Hilton hotel on the lower 23 floors. Views across Manchester from the hotel are spectacular.

If you are staying in the Hilton Manchester you should visit Cloud 23 for a cocktail or dinner. It really feels like you are floating above the city centre.

The Hilton Deansgate also has a heated swimming pool, gym and spa. Unwind if you are visiting Manchester on business.
