Friday, February 11th, 2011

The Serviced City Pads blog is here to tell you about an exciting month in Newcastle this May at the Newcastle City Hall. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.

For the kids, there’s the chance to see the globally popular ensemble The Wiggles who have entertained us all with their insanely catchy songs. The highly successful TV show will come to life for any child lucky enough to have a ticket for one of these shows. The group will play the City Hall on Thursday 26th May.

The music lover can choose between Michael Ball or up and coming X Factor runner-up Olly Murs – both will be playing the City Hall in May. Olly Murs is following up the success of his single “Please Don’t Let Me Go” with a string of dates, including Newcastle on 2nd May. The veteran Michael Ball plays the City Hall at the end of the month – on Monday 30th May.

Laughter won’t be in short supply either, with two very talented comedians making an appearance. First up is Milton Jones, a funnyman who you may recognize from his appearances on TV’s “Mock The Week”. He will bring his “The Lion Whisperer” stage show to town on the 6th May. Another Mock The Week regular, Ed Byrne, will be appearing live on Friday 27th May.

Serviced Apartment Accommodation for Newcastle Racecourse

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

Newcastle Racecourse is a horse racing course located in the 812 acre High Gosforth Park Estate just outside Newcastle and is home to 30 race meetings a year. It stages both flat and National Hunt racing, with the biggest meeting being the Northumberland Plate which is held annually in June. The racecourse has seen a big turn in its fortunes in the last decade and a lot of this success can be attributed to the arrival of Scottish businessman David Williamson as managing director in April 2002. During a six year period he transformed the racecourses fortunes and helped boost turnover from £2.5m to £6.5m.
The Northumberland Plate is surely he highlight of the racing calendar in Newcastle and brings in £30m to the regional economy. It’s now one of the richest two-mile handicaps in the world with the prize fund for the 2009 running at £180,000.
For those who are attending the racing, there are the usual budget hotels options available but often race goers want something a bit more luxurious than a cramped, basic hotel room. That’s why serviced apartments are becoming a more and more popular option for people across the country and especially in Newcastle. Serviced City Pads have a number of serviced apartment options in Newcastle that you can stay in during race events at Newcastle Racecourse. Everyone that stays in a serviced apartment mentions how much more they enjoyed the experience and how much more they have felt at home compared when they have previously stayed in hotels. The main reason why serviced apartments prove so popular is because of the extra space that they provide, as you are getting a whole apartment for your money rather than just 1 small hotel room.
If you’re heading over to Newcastle to attend the racing then you will probably want some luxury accommodation in Newcastle to match your experience. When you’ve spent a day at the races in your best suit, having been sipping champagne and winning your thousands, the last thing you want is to go back to a cramped budget hotel room. Get in contact with Serviced City Pads and see what Newcastle apartments that they can offer you.

Business In Newcastle

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Newcastle airport was opened in July 1935 and incorporated a clubhouse, workshops, hangar, fuel garage and grass runway. Over the years since, the airport has developed and has become the twelfth busiest airport in the United Kingdom. The south side of the airport is now mainly used for freight, mail and corporate flights. With budget airlines and major travel companies having flights from Newcastle airport, it is convenient for the many corporate events that take place in Newcastle.

When travelling on corporate business to cities such as Newcastle it is usually recommended that you book one of the hotels near Newcastle airport, saving on travelling time. However, conducting business is not always easy when you are in a hotel as you are restricted in areas such as space and facilities. Holding a business meeting whilst in hotels near Newcastle airport is not always possible, especially at peak times of the year when any available rooms may be fully booked.

Here at Serviced City Pads we have many serviced apartments in Newcastle which are fully equipped and suitable for business use. The surroundings are peaceful with the apartments being tastefully furnished leaving a lasting impression on business clients. As hotels near Newcastle airport can be quite expensive our apartments offer a good value alternative for corporate accommodation.

Serviced apartments in Newcastle are a suitable alternative to a hotel especially if you want to make a good impression on business clients. The fact that you can make your guests welcome in spacious accommodation will certainly be a welcome change to a cramped hotel room.

Newcastle – A Warm Welcome

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Newcastle was known for its heavy involvement in the coal mining and manufacturing industries in the nineteenth century which declined during the first half of the twentieth century to be replaced by office and retail employment, which now provides the backbone of Newcastle with the Central Business District in the heart of the city centre.

Newcastle airport is now the tenth largest and fastest growing regional airport in the UK. Whether you are travelling to Newcastle on business or for pleasure there is much to see and do with a lively nightlife providing theatres and bars for all tastes. The shopping is overwhelming with the MetroCentre nearby located in Gateshead.

Whilst visiting Newcastle most people stay at a Newcastle airport hotel, as they provide convenience and a reasonable price. There are disadvantages to hotels, though; such as being busy which is a distraction if you are on business and require peace and quiet. They are also noisy as flights are arriving at the airport all the time with passengers checking in to a Newcastle airport hotel throughout the night.

Staying in an apartment is a preferable choice, giving you a convenient location where you have plenty of space as well as peace and quiet. There are many restaurants in Newcastle, but with a serviced apartment in Newcastle you can also choose to dine in which is particularly handy if you have a budget to stick to. Here at Serviced City Pads we offer all the luxury of a top hotel at a much lower price with convenient locations for serviced apartments all over Newcastle.

The Advantages of Choosing Hotels near Newcastle Airport

Friday, March 26th, 2010

If you’re travelling to Newcastle, there’s always the decision of where you should stay. Should you choose hotels near Newcastle airport, or perhaps something a bit more central? Often, choosing accommodation such as serviced apartments in Newcastle near the airport would be the best decision, and here are just a few advantages of doing so.

•    It’s convenient for both the airport and the city. Hotels near Newcastle airport will often have great transport links, with public transport often being available to take you into the city and even shuttle services being provided to transport you to the hotel.

•    If you’ve just got in after a long flight, hotels that are easy to get to will always be preferred. You don’t want to have to travel even further after spending hours on a plane, so hotels that are nearby will be ideal. The same applies if you’ve got an early flight the next day – the minimal travelling time can make the whole exercise a lot easier.

•    You can usually get cheaper prices than if you went for a hotel in the centre of town. Being slightly out of town may pose problems for some people, but that’s a small price to pay for the great value that you’ll be able to find.

These are just a few advantages that you’ll be able to find when you choose hotels near Newcastle airport, and there are sure to be many more. But, remember that hotels aren’t the only option, and if you’d like to look at a great selection of serviced apartments in Newcastle instead then make sure to check us out here at Serviced City Pads.

Talk To Us Before Booking a Newcastle Airport Hotel

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Newcastle is known its strong regional identity, and is a very fun and friendly place to visit, whether you’re in the ‘Toon’ on business or to play.

While you might think a Newcastle airport hotel would be the answer to your accommodation needs for your trip, it’s well worth considering the alternatives. These include serviced apartments – fully furnished, self-contained properties which allow you to self-cater, while having hotel-style comforts like maid service and fresh sheets and towels. You’ll have everything you need in your apartment.

At Serviced City Pads, we have dozens of these kinds of serviced apartments across the city, at prices which compare very favourably with any Newcastle airport hotel. Your beautifully finished and fully equipped home from home will either provide a comfortable business base or the perfect place from which to explore the city or wider region at leisure.

Enjoy riverside luxury on Baltic Quay in regenerated Gateshead, staying in style in a studio or an apartment which can sleep up to four people, and enjoy fantastic views across the city. With studios starting at just £85 a night, you can see why people choose us rather than booking into, say, a Newcastle airport hotel.

We’re particularly geared up to dealing with corporate clients, so talk to us whether you’re in town for one night or several months, whether you’re relocating, doing some training in the area or working on a contract locally.

It’s so easy to view all our Newcastle apartments online. Talk to us about what you need, and we’ll find you somewhere near wherever you need to be in the city, or browse our accommodation and make a booking through our web site.

You may never need to stay in a hotel in Newcastle again!
