Steve Hughes to play Liverpool’s Slaughter House

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

Steve Hughes is the Australian musician turned comedian with long rocker hair who combines his experiences of both worlds to give you a stand-up experience that will have you laughing your socks off.
Hughes lays claim to a 1980’s thrash metal music career; we can assume his long, bedraggled rocker hair sprouted from his roots in rock music. He formed the band Slaughter Lord who did record demos, but were largely unsuccessful. Hughes was also part of the bands Mortal Sin and Nazxul. Therefore, his relatively new pathway into the comedy arena is likely to appeal to those with knowledge of heavy rock.
Hughes may also appeal to his northern audiences as he has settled in Manchester and often makes references to his experiences of the city and the Mancunian inhabitants. This move to the UK was inspired by Hughes’ wish to expand his audiences, so since 2002 he has lived in Britain whilst promoting and performing his stand-ups. It would appear Steve Hughes has somewhat achieved his aim, as audience members have raved about his hilarious twists on situation-comedy and he has received outstanding reviews from his performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has also made television appearances on the critically acclaimed Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and Channel 4’s “Stand-up of the Week.”
Why not see the man himself live in the centre of one of Britain’s most happening cities? Steve Hughes is appearing at Liverpool’s Slaughter House on Thursday 3rd April. This will be a great night for laughing ‘til your sides ache and at only £12 a ticket, there’s simply no reason not to! Hughes’ stand-up is also student friendly as those who are holders of an NUS card can attend for just £10!! With all that money saved, why not go bargain bonkers and book a Liverpool serviced apartment to stay in? This will be a welcome rest where you can safely put your socks back on (you’ll have laughed them off more than once).

Steps playing in Liverpool, make sure you book your apartment

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

Chart music today does is not like the pop music directed at children that we were lucky enough to enjoy in the 90s. A past love for Steps, SClub 7 and Hearsay might seem like a dark secret we’d rather keep concealed, but when “Tragedy” comes on the radio if you’re old enough to remember the dance moves, you can’t deny that you start bopping along. It’s something to celebrate! Steps were a superb pop group who lay claim to the classic chart hits “One for Sorrow,” “It’s the Way you Make Me Feel” and “Say You’ll be Mine.” The Steps reunion tour is set to hit Liverpool Echo Arena on 4th April 2012. This is set to be a sell-out tour and tickets are extremely sought after.

The group Steps consist of 5 members: Lee, H, Claire, Faye and Lisa. The country-wide tour will give attendees the chance to see how the group members have changed over the years. Hopefully the group will whack out some 90s stage-wear to make us all feel like we’ve stepped back in time. Claire Richards is set to re-join her band members on stage after reportedly losing 5 stone! Fans will hope that Claire is back to looking as fab as she did back in the day, perhaps this will inspire those of us who have put on a few pounds to take a leaf out of her book.

Children will also be welcome to attend the concert.

If you fancy reliving your youth, don’t cringe at the thought, but make a proper night of it and stay in a furnished Liverpool serviced apartment. You’ll be able to check out the city and party the night away to all your favourite 90s classics, knowing that you’ll have a great place to stay. Compared to a hotel, you get so much more room in an apartment so you’ll have your own lounge where you can bogey the night away to your favourite Steps tunes! Serviced City Pads have a range of Liverpool apartment hotels available for mid-week and weekend stays, so get in touch today and see what’s on offer for your stay.

Serviced apartments available for Oasis and Paul Weller tribute show at the Liverpool Academy

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

It might be impossible to see the real Oasis live these days, but this May you can see a genuine imitation when the tribute band Definitely Mightbe will be rocking the Liverpool O2 Academy. The show will also feature Changing Man, a Paul Weller tribute act. That’s a lot of Britpop in one evening!

Oasis are one of the most popular British bands of all time, producing a string of hit songs like “Champagne Supernova”, “Wonderwall”, and “Live Forever” and selling millions of records. The band were defined by the fractious relationship between the two Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam. In 2009, the tension between the two finally caused the band to break up. There had been arguments before but the pair had always made their peace. However, this time was different. Liam has gone on to form the new band Beady Eye with his erstwhile Oasis bandmates, and Noel has gone solo with his Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds project. However, though the band might be (for now) broken up, you can still see their classic songs performed live by Definitely Mightbe, a leading Oasis tribute act. If you want to relive the magic of Oasis’ finest tunes then you should make sure to grab yourself a ticket for Definitely Mightbe’s show at the Liverpool O2 Academy on Friday 4th May 2012.

If you are coming to Liverpool to see the show and will be needing somewhere to stay afterwards, have you considered serviced apartments Liverpool? Serviced apartments are a great alternative to the usual hotel option. They can provide much more space and comfort than a hotel room, and the majority of them have a kitchen and a living and dining area. Liverpool serviced apartments are a great place to relax during your visit to the city.

You can see the range of serviced apartments Liverpool available on the Serviced City Pads website. If you would like to find out what options are available to you for your visit, you can enquire through our website or call our reservations team on 0844 335 8866.
