May 2011 at Newcastle City Hall

Friday, February 11th, 2011

The Serviced City Pads blog is here to tell you about an exciting month in Newcastle this May at the Newcastle City Hall. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.

For the kids, there’s the chance to see the globally popular ensemble The Wiggles who have entertained us all with their insanely catchy songs. The highly successful TV show will come to life for any child lucky enough to have a ticket for one of these shows. The group will play the City Hall on Thursday 26th May.

The music lover can choose between Michael Ball or up and coming X Factor runner-up Olly Murs – both will be playing the City Hall in May. Olly Murs is following up the success of his single “Please Don’t Let Me Go” with a string of dates, including Newcastle on 2nd May. The veteran Michael Ball plays the City Hall at the end of the month – on Monday 30th May.

Laughter won’t be in short supply either, with two very talented comedians making an appearance. First up is Milton Jones, a funnyman who you may recognize from his appearances on TV’s “Mock The Week”. He will bring his “The Lion Whisperer” stage show to town on the 6th May. Another Mock The Week regular, Ed Byrne, will be appearing live on Friday 27th May.

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

Serviced apartment booking company Serviced City Pads, is delighted to announce that it has added a number of new listings to it’s serviced apartments in Newcastle page. Premier Apartments in Newcastle, which is one of the most recent additions means that Serviced City Pads now has a broader range of apartments that are perfect for corporate stays in Newcastle as well as stag and hen weekend in Newcastle.

There are 31 apartments at Premier Newcastle and the location is second to none, being right in the heart of Newcastle city centre – just a short walk from Newcastle Central train station. There are a range of 1 and 2 bedroom serviced apartments that are the perfect alternative to staying in a hotel in Newcastle for groups that are visiting the city as well as corporate guests who may be working away from home on projects in Newcastle.

Newcastle is a much changed city over the last decade and has much more to offer it’s visitor than a visit to St. James’s Park to watch Newcastle United FC. If you are interested in contemporary art then The Sage and Baltic Centres are the place for you. You may also want to catch a live concert at The Metro Radio Arena. Sunderland and Durham are nearby as an added incentive to visitors who are planning a city break in Newcastle.

These serviced apartments in Newcastle offer much more space than the four walls of a hotel room in Newcastle, with open plan living and dining areas; fully fitted kitchens – which allow the guest to make their own food. This is popular with serviced apartment guests as it gives them the flexibility to eat what they want and when to eat it; as well as being a much cheaper alternative to eating in a hotel restaurant. Of course, there is a wide selection of restaurants close to Premier Apartments Newcastle should you decide to eat out. Staying in a Newcastle short stay apartment allows you to sample the best of both worlds!

For group bookings an apartment offers you the space to get ready together before you hit the town as well as somewhere to congregate – have a couple of drinks or a bite to eat – before you go and visit the bars and nightclubs in Newcastle.

If you are planning to work and stay in Newcastle, or if you are looking to book your stag do in Newcastle or Hen weekend in Newcastle, then you should contact Serviced City Pads. We have a Reservations Team who will be delighted to help with booking you accommodation in Newcastle.

Serviced Apartment Accommodation for Newcastle Racecourse

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

Newcastle Racecourse is a horse racing course located in the 812 acre High Gosforth Park Estate just outside Newcastle and is home to 30 race meetings a year. It stages both flat and National Hunt racing, with the biggest meeting being the Northumberland Plate which is held annually in June. The racecourse has seen a big turn in its fortunes in the last decade and a lot of this success can be attributed to the arrival of Scottish businessman David Williamson as managing director in April 2002. During a six year period he transformed the racecourses fortunes and helped boost turnover from £2.5m to £6.5m.
The Northumberland Plate is surely he highlight of the racing calendar in Newcastle and brings in £30m to the regional economy. It’s now one of the richest two-mile handicaps in the world with the prize fund for the 2009 running at £180,000.
For those who are attending the racing, there are the usual budget hotels options available but often race goers want something a bit more luxurious than a cramped, basic hotel room. That’s why serviced apartments are becoming a more and more popular option for people across the country and especially in Newcastle. Serviced City Pads have a number of serviced apartment options in Newcastle that you can stay in during race events at Newcastle Racecourse. Everyone that stays in a serviced apartment mentions how much more they enjoyed the experience and how much more they have felt at home compared when they have previously stayed in hotels. The main reason why serviced apartments prove so popular is because of the extra space that they provide, as you are getting a whole apartment for your money rather than just 1 small hotel room.
If you’re heading over to Newcastle to attend the racing then you will probably want some luxury accommodation in Newcastle to match your experience. When you’ve spent a day at the races in your best suit, having been sipping champagne and winning your thousands, the last thing you want is to go back to a cramped budget hotel room. Get in contact with Serviced City Pads and see what Newcastle apartments that they can offer you.

Finding the Right Corporate Accommodation in Newcastle

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Looking for the right corporate accommodation in Newcastle can be a tricky business, but there are ways you can make sure that you’ve found the best options.

First up, consider asking your boss or your colleagues for anything they can recommend. If you work for a company that often sends their employees on business trips then they’re bound to have links with rental companies and hotels, so if you like the look of their places taking that recommendation would be well worth considering.

However, there’s also the option of doing your own research. You can look for hotels online, perhaps by heading to hotel review or comparison sites, or if you really want the best you can consult the Good Hotel Guide that will be more than able to point you in the right direction.

It’s worth remembering though that hotels aren’t the only option, and for the best corporate accommodation in Newcastle you might want to consider serviced apartments in Newcastle. These will be able to offer you the height of luxury yet with all the creature comforts of home, and as you’ll have a lot more space than in hotels they could offer the perfect solution.

So, finding the right corporate accommodation in Newcastle can be easier than you think, so long as you know where to look. If you’ve decided that serviced apartments in Newcastle would be the ideal option then come to us here at Serviced City Pads, as with such a great range of apartments to choose from we’re sure that we’ll have just what you’re looking for.

Why Serviced Apartments Beat Hotels Near Newcastle Airport Hands Down

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Newcastle deserves its image as a party town, and you’ll find it a particularly friendly place. It also boasts great transport links, with its own airport, and easy access to both Scotland and the whole of northern England. The city is also serious about big business, and is an important commercial centre.

So there could be any number of reasons why you either want to visit, or need to. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay, rather than searching online for hotels near Newcastle airport, have a think about serviced apartments.

Unlike hotels near Newcastle airport, serviced apartments give you a whole flat to enjoy. Thanks to a fully kitted out and spacious kitchen, you’ll have the choice to eat in or out. And you won’t have to worry about cleaning, or about bringing your own towels or sheets.

You may be surprised at just how cheap it is to rent a serviced apartment compared to the cost of hotels near Newcastle airport. Longer stays in serviced apartments in particular offer great value.

Serviced City Pads has dozens of apartments across the city, providing stylish and excellent value accommodation whatever the reason for your visit to the capital of England’s North East. Prices start from £85 a night for an apartment sleeping two, or £120 a night for one accommodating up to four people, so you can see we compare favourably to hotels near Newcastle airport.

Stay in Gateshead, revitalised in recent years, and you can enjoy the Millennium Bridge, the fantastic Baltic Mill art gallery, and stroll by the riverside.

With all of our apartments completed to at least the same standard as a three star hotel, you’ll love the quality of our accommodation as well as the prices.
