Visit London’s Art Exhibitions and stay in a London Serviced Apartment

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

London Serviced Apartments are a great alternative versus London Hotels due to the fifty percent increase in space and apartments can often work out thirty percent cheaper giving leisure and corporate customers real savings to their trip, you can contact the Serviced City Pads reservations team on 0844 335 8866 where a member of the team will be delighted to discuss your London Accommodation requirements and help you make the right apartment choice for your London visit.

Serviced City Pads supply a large range of London Serviced Apartments throughout London as a great alternative to London Hotels, you can stay in a London Serviced Apartment from one night through to several years, bookings can be made through the reservations team for leisure or corporate stays. A really good Art Exihibition to visit right now is Grayson Perry who is exhibiting at the British Museum with his show ‘The Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman’ this show is on now until February 12th 2012. Grayson Perry is the enfant terrible of the UK Art World with an interesting character to boot, Gryason is known for his ceramic vases and more interestingly his cross dressing which I found most interesting as when dressed as a femaile Perry goes by the name of Claire. Grayson’s vases are decorated in bright colours, depicting subjects at odds with their attractive appearance and Perry was awarded the Turner Prize in 2003.

Many London Apartments are perfect for leisure bookings particularly for families where the price can work out cheaper with the use of sofabeds in the lounge, families find that a London Serviced Apartment can make their stay cheaper by purchasing food and products in the local supermarket to cook in the apartment kitchen. Many famileis use a London Serviced Apartmentas for a London City Break where they will take their children to London for the first time to see all the wonderful sights London has to offer like Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament.Perry has spent many years working with clay because he was drawn to the desire to make an honest pot more interesting and exciting where he looks to several ceramic traditons including Greek pottery and folk art and wants the pot to have a certain humility and he quoted that ‘ the shape has to be classical invisble: then you have base that people can understand’. The real attraction to his work that they include ‘glazing, incision, embossing, andn the use of photographic transfers’ which require several firings.

Serviced apartments available in Manchester for Coldplay at the MEN Arena

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

Serviced apartments are available in Manchester for early December when Coldplay will be playing the MEN Arena. On the Serviced City Pads website you can see a range of serviced apartments that are an ideal choice for anyone looking for accommodation for that night. To see the kinds of serviced apartments available in Manchester, just visit the Manchester city page by clicking here.

Coldplay will be playing the MEN Arena on the 4th December 2011, and serviced apartments are available for that night in Manchester. Coldplay have established themselves as one of the biggest bands in the world in the last decade. They have become one of the arena touring megabands like U2, a band that the Coldplay boys have always been big fans of. This latest UK tour will see the band promoting their latest album “Mylo Xyloto”, the band’s fifth studio album. Coldplay first came onto the scene with their debut album “Parachutes” which immediately marked them out as something special. It was clear that the band are great songwriters, and definitely know how to pen a catchy tune. The album spawned some big singles, including “Trouble” and “Shiver” and of course what is one of the band’s signature tunes, “Yellow”. The record buying public immediately took to the Coldplay and Chris Martin’s keening falsetto has become a regular feature on pop radio. The follow up album “A Rush of Blood to the Head” was even better than their debut, with the band showing a greater confidence and swagger (as much as Coldplay can be said to “swagger” – they’re very modest chaps), and Jonny Buckland’s guitar work is a joy throughout. The album continued Coldplay’s domination of the pop charts, with big hits like “Clocks”, “The Scientist” and “In My Place”. Subsequent albums “X & Y” and “Viva La Vida…” have seen Coldplay continuing to gain fans whilst also trying out different approaches musically. One example of this is “Viva La Vida…”’s approach to rhythm, with the band citing as an inspiration the hypnotic grooves of the band Tinariwen. The new album will hopefully show yet another side to Coldplay, and their fans will be excited to see the band perform the new material live, as well as some of the many hits that the band now have in their back catalogue. Coldplay have become global stars thanks to their abilities as a live band – they have performed all over the world and have sold over 50,000,000 records worldwide.

If you will be travelling to Manchester to see Coldplay, have you looked at serviced apartments for accommodation? At Serviced City Pads we have a wide range of serviced apartments that could accommodate you whether you are travelling alone or with family or a group of friends. There are studio and one bedroom apartments as well as larger two and three bedroom apartments. Serviced apartments available in Edinburgh for the Dead by Dawn Festival 2012

Monday, September 12th, 2011

Serviced apartments are still available in Edinburgh for the Dead by Dawn film festival next year. Serviced apartments are a great place to stay during your visit to Edinburgh, offering much more space than the traditional hotel room. If you are interested in serviced apartments in Edinburgh, why not visit the Serviced City Pads website and see what your options are?

Serviced apartments in Edinburgh are available for next year’s Dead by Dawn festival which will take place from 29th March – 1st April 2012. Dead by Dawn is a horror film festival that has taken place annually since 1993 (except for a break in 2010) at Edinburgh’s Filmhouse. The festival is an international affair with films from all around the world – this Serviced City Pads blogger was lucky enough to attend last year’s festival, and there was a great diversity of films on display. This year’s line-up is still to be confirmed, but a quick recap of last year’s line-up will illustrate the range of film on offer. In terms of the more traditional fare there was “The Last Employee”, a haunting ghost story from Germany, and “Julia’s Eyes” a Spanish psychological chiller about a woman losing her sight. There were also some films that don’t fit the traditional horror mould, but were frightening nonetheless, such as the Japanese drama “Cold Fish” by arch provocateur Sion Sono. There were also some strange offerings like the excellent Korean film “The Neighbour Zombie”, which was composed of short films made by Korean film-makers. British film was represented by the absolutely charming and funny “Harold’s Going Stiff” which saw a lonely old man suffering from the onset of zombie like symptoms making a new friend. There was space for comedy at the festival too, with “Dale & Tucker vs. Evil” and “Chop”, which was an absolutely inspired parody of “Hostel” and “Saw”. As well as showcasing new film, the festival also offered the chance to see classic horror on the big screen – last year saw screenings of “Carrie”, Cronenberg’s “Dead Ringers”, and “Killer Klowns from Outer Space”. It’s not all about features though; the festival also showcased short films and animation from all over the world. For anybody who loves horror film, the Dead by Dawn festival will be a delight – you will have the opportunity to see film from all over the world. If you want a challenge, you can try to survive the Saturday night all night screening – it ran until 7.00am in the morning, and this blogger is proud to say he managed to make it through, meaning that he did not miss a single thing on the festival bill.

If you will be coming to Edinburgh for Dead by Dawn next year, have you considered serviced apartments for your accommodation? Serviced apartments can offer much more space and comfort than the traditional hotel room, with a living and dining area, and a kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. To see the range of serviced apartments available in Edinburgh, visit the Edinburgh city page on the Serviced City Pads website.

Serviced apartments in Manchester for Blink 182 at the MEN

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

Serviced City Pads has serviced apartments available in Manchester which you can see by visiting our website. There is a wide range of apartments available from studio and one bedroom apartments up to three bedroom apartments that are ideal for groups and families.

For those visiting Manchester, serviced apartments are available across the city. There will doubtless be some people visiting Manchester in June 2012 as that month sees the return of pop-punk power trio Blink 182 to the MEN Arena for the first time since 2004. The band was one of the biggest pop acts in after the release of the smash-hit album “Enema of the State” in 1999. The album spawned many hit singles such as “What’s My Age Again?”, “All the Small Things” and “Adam’s Song”. The follow up album, 2001’s “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket”, continued the band’s rise with “First Date”, “Rock Show” and “Stay Together for the Kids”. The success continued with the self-titled album (hit songs included “Always” and “Down”) which saw the band take a different approach to their sound. However, though Blink 182 were by this time was regularly selling out stadiums across the world and shifting truckloads of albums, things were not all well within the band. The band went on “indefinite hiatus” in 2005, but in reality it seemed like it was all over. Guitarist Tom DeLonge quit the band, and everyone moved on to other projects. Bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker formed the new punk-pop outfit +44, and Tom DeLonge formed the band “Angels and Airwaves”. It wasn’t until 2008, after Barker had been injured in a plane crash that the former bandmates began to reconnect with each other. At the 2009 Grammy Awards, the trio appeared together and announced the band’s reformation. A reunion tour followed that year that saw the band rapturously received by their fans, and they began work on a new album. This album, “Neighbourhoods” will be released this September and followed by a European tour. Blink 182 will be coming to Manchester’s MEN Arena on 15th June 2012 to play their new songs and all their classic hits. For every Blink fan it should be worth the wait. The band is known for their high energy performances and their hilarious stage banter, and the Manchester show should be a night to remember.

If you will be visiting Manchester next year to see Blink 182, perhaps you are interested in serviced apartments for your stay? Here at Serviced City Pads we have a variety of serviced apartments available in Manchester. Serviced apartments available in Manchester for CSS concert

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

Serviced apartments are available in Manchester for the visit of dance pop group CSS at the end of the month. At Serviced City Pads we have a range of options available for those travelling to Manchester to see CSS and who are interested in serviced apartments.

Manchester has plenty of serviced apartments available for Tuesday 30th August 2011 when CSS will be coming back to the UK on tour. CSS were formed in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in 2003 by a group of friends with a fondness for pop music. Appropriately their name is inspired by a quote from the current queen of pop, Beyonce Knowles. CSS stands for “Cansei de Ser Sexy”, which is a Portuguese translation of a Beyonce quote where the former Destiny’s Child and now solo star declared she was “tired of being sexy”. The group gained a cult following through the internet, and were signed and released their self-titled debut album in 2005. The famed Sub Pop label then picked up the band in 2006 and gave their debut an international release, which saw the band’s profile grow massively. The album spawned a number of hit singles, such as “Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above” and “Music is My Hot Hot Sex”. The band gained a large following in the UK as part of the so-called “nu-rave” scene with bands like the Klaxons and New Young Pony Club. The band has since released the follow-up album “Donkey” in 2008 and will be over in Manchester this month as part of their tour to promote “La Liberacion”, their new album which is scheduled to be released at the end of the month. The band’s live shows have become the stuff of legend, and if you can get to Manchester to see them live then the Serviced City Pads blog recommends it. The band are famous for their high energy levels, and in the wonderfully named Lovefoxxx they have one of the best bandleaders around.

If you will be coming to Manchester this August, perhaps you have been thinking about staying in serviced apartments. Serviced apartments are an increasingly popular choice for people travelling around the UK, as they can offer far more space and comfort than a hotel room. On the Serviced City Pads website we have a range of serviced apartments that may be available for your stay. A serviced apartment, as well as the usual bedroom and bathroom, will have a living and dining area you can relax in and a kitchen where you can make your own meals. In Manchester there are one studio and one bedroom apartments up to two or three bedroom apartments, so whether you are travelling alone, with a family, or as part of a group, there should be a serviced apartment suitable for you. You can see the options available in Manchester by going to the Manchester city page on the Serviced City Pads website.

Serviced Apartments available in Manchester for the new season

Monday, August 8th, 2011

Here at Serviced City Pads we have a wide range of serviced apartments available in Manchester that can accommodate visitors to the city for the new football season. It’s not long now until the Barclays Premier League kicks off again.
Serviced apartments in Manchester are a great option for anyone travelling to see some Premier League action. Manchester is of course famously home to Manchester United, unarguably the most successful team of the Premier League era, and has a global fanbase. That fanbase will be eager to see if Alex Ferguson’s men can repeat last season’s title triumph, whilst also wondering how they will react to their other title challengers. There is the threat of a Chelsea side looking to rejuvenate itself with the hiring of Andre Villas-Boas, one of the most promising young managers in world football; also there is Arsenal FC, a club who are looking a bit shaky at the moment with all the very public (not to mention rather tiresome) drama of Fabregas and Nasri contemplating Emirates exits but a club that it would be foolish to write off given the talent in their squad and wonderful style of football; and then there are the dark horses, Tottenham and Liverpool, both looking to get back into the top four, but also both teams who might secretly have their sights set much higher than that. As much of a challenge as these teams represent perhaps the biggest will be the “noisy neighbours” Manchester City, who are looking to build on last season’s 3rd place finish. The club have shown their ambition with some big signings; the latest of these is the sought after Sergio Aguero. It will be very interesting to see how Aguero settles, particularly when the exit of Carlos Tevez cannot be ruled out. Roberto Mancini is apparently looking to swap Tevez for Samuel Eto’o – if that move happens then Manchester City will have one of the most exciting attacks in the Premier League.
Serviced apartments will be available in Manchester throughout the new Premier League season. At Serviced City Pads we have apartments suitable for one or two people up to apartments that will be suitable for families or groups. Serviced apartments are a good alternative to hotels as they are more spacious and, as they have a living and dining area as well as a kitchen, they can provide the comfort of home away from home. To take a look at the options available for you, you can visit the Manchester city page on our website.
If you will be coming to Manchester this season, why not stay in a serviced apartment? You can contact us to find out what options are available for you. You can call us on 0844-335-8866 to speak to our reservations team, or you can send an enquiry through our website and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
