What have you got planned for your loved one this Valentine’s day?

Some petrol station flowers at the last minute or a box of Milk Tray? How original! I’m pretty sure either of these aren’t going to earn you any brownie points for the year ahead and that could be the making of a very long year indeed. So how about you be a little adventurous and sweep your loved one off their feet and off down to the nation’s capital London for a few days of rest and relaxation. There’s no better way to do this than to take one of our luxurious Serviced Apartments which are based all across the city centre.

Well now you’ve made it to London what next? Well if you’re still feeling adventurous how about taking the ‘Lovers Leap’ Bungee Jump? Its only £97.00 for the tandem jump and a free half bottle of Champers to celebrate afters (or before you go up if you need a little Dutch courage). It’s the perfect Valentine’s gift as you do it together, hugging each other all the way down and that little sense of danger can get the heart beating & blood pumping extra fast. After your jump you can head back to your fully serviced apartment to wind down and relax for the night with the same comforts as home.

If a bungee jump is a little too fast paced for your tastes then what about a romantic Thames dinner cruise for two? You can purchase seats on one of 2 cruise boats that travel along the Thames on Valentine’s evening. The tickets include a Champagne reception, 4 course a la Carte dinner, live entertainment and dancing – as well as a single red rose for your partner. After you get back to dry land you may want to go back to your serviced apartment for a relaxing evening together in your fully furnished living room snuggling up on the sofa.

Then again you can also do Valentine’s Day in style with a Valentine’s Day wine tasting for 2 at Vinopolis, London’s premier wine tasting venue. You can immerse yourself in the world of wines for the day and for a very low Valentines special cost of £25 per couple you get to taste 5 wines of your choice as well as a Bombay Sapphire cocktail and you also get to experience an audio commentary from Oz Clarke and get to take home a Vinopolis wine tasting notebook. Vinopolis is located close to London Bridge which means that after you have finished the wine tasting you are close to go to the West End for a nice meal and maybe even some more of the wine you have just been tasting!

Once back from your busy schedule in the city you can relax and unwind in the comfort of one of our serviced apartment’s safe in the knowledge that for the time being you are in your other half’s good graces. For now anyhow!

Madame Tussards London is a major tourist attraction located in Central London. It is famous for recreating famous people, or celebrities, in wax. It is the original Madame Tussauds attraction, having been situated on Marleybone Road sine 1884. It was set up by wax scupltor Marie Tussaud. Following a successful tour of the UK, Madame Tussauds established a permenant base for her exhibition in London as the Baker Street Bazaar in 1835. Visitors paid sixpence for the chance to meet the biggest names of the day. The attraction moved to its present site in Marleybone Road in 1884. There are a slection of themed rooms to enjoy on the Tour.

World Leaders

The World Leaders area of the attraction contains political and spiritual leaders of the World – past and present. The new figure of Barack Obama dominates this area; he is standing in the mock-up of the Oval Office which has a replica of the Resoloute desk. Others leaders in this area include Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill, Nicolas Sarkozy, Ronald Reagan, Tony Blair, Benazir Bhutto, Martin Luther King, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Ghandi.

Ther World leaders area is also noted for its inclusion of controversial figures, including Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussien and Robert Mugabe. Mother Teresa is one of the very few icons to ask not to be made, saying ‘her work was mor important, not the person’. Another notable omission from this area is current British Prime Minister Gordon Brown – the company said it has not been made into a wax figure due to his low popularity and not being elected into the position of Prime Minister, having assumed the position after the retirement of Tony Blair.

Spirit of London ride

The spirit of London is a sit-down ridein which visitors sit in London taxis and are taken on a journy through the history of London. The ride starts in Tudor times and ends in the 1980’s, passing through the times of Shakespeare, the Great Fire of London, the Industrial Revelution and the Swinging Sixties. The ride has commentary in a few languages and a photo is taken near the end of the ride which can be purchased when disembarked.

Warhol’s Women

The Warhol’s Women zone contains the figure of Andy Warhol as well as female celebrities he famously portrayed, inlcuding Marilyn Monroe in the classic pose where her skirt is blown upward, Liza Minelli, Judy Garland, Jerry Hall and Jackie O.

James Bond

The James Bond area contains the figures of Daniel Craig and Judi Dench. It has on display an original motorbike used in the James Bond movie Casino Royale.

Opening Times

Off-peak opening times are generally 9.30am – 5.30pm. Off-peak periods are weekdays and non UK school holidays.

Peak opening times are 9am to 6pm. Peak opening times are weekends, UK school holidays, bank holidays and the whole of the summer period ( July through August )

Occasionally trhe attraction shuts early if there is a corporate event happening.

Please contact Serviced City Pads reservations team on 0844 335 8866 for your short or long stay in London in a Serviced Apartment.

London Fashion Week is coming soon, with the provisional dates set between 19th and 24th February 2010.
If you are planning to stay in London during Fashion Week, have you considered staying in Central London serviced apartment? An apartment is an alternative that is much more like a home from home, having the benefits of a hotel along with the creature comforts of home. You will probably find yourself saving money, especially if you share a 2 bedroom London serviced apartment.
