Birmingham Serviced Apartments Bring A Touch Of Luxury

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

High quality accommodation in Birmingham is expected because this city is such a booming metropolis, and luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham do not disappoint. Increasing numbers of visitors staying in the city are choosing Birmingham serviced apartments instead of a hotel, and there are many reasons supporting this choice.

Luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham offer guests a spacious environment all of their own where they can relax and unwind after a busy day. In a hotel, you are confined to just one room, but when staying in this type of accommodation in Birmingham you have many rooms to spend your time in – and a great deal of privacy, too.

Birmingham serviced apartments offer great value for money, especially considering the indulgent amenities that they offer. Hotels can be expensive and often do not provide a luxurious environment, and regularly require updating and improvements to feel remotely pleasant. Feeling trapped in a small and outdated space is not ideal when wanting to relax after a full day in the city. Serviced apartments in Birmingham are different, as they provide high quality accommodation and are fully furnished with exceptional fittings and furniture for guests to enjoy.

At Serviced City Pads, we aim to provide our guests with luxurious, comfortable and impressive accommodation in Birmingham, and our high quality serviced apartments reflect this. Our visitors instantly feel at home when staying in our Birmingham serviced apartments because we have developed all of our apartments thoughtfully and with close attention to detail.

Are You Looking For High Quality Accommodation In Birmingham?

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

When planning a trip to a big city like Birmingham, it can be difficult to know where to stay. Your choice of accommodation can make a big difference to the experience you have, and therefore must be considered carefully. There are a lot of different types of accommodation in Birmingham available, but not all will provide you with good value for money.

Many of us would love to always be able to stay in the swankiest hotels when visiting a city for business or pleasure, but this is not always possible. Instead, what we must do is find the best accommodation available at the best price.

Cheaper hotel rooms often reflect their price in the quality they offer. Tiny and dark bedrooms, cheap furniture and poor facilities are all common problems for many when staying in a hotel. However, there is no need for visitors to Birmingham to go through this any longer, because luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham are available at affordable prices.

Birmingham serviced apartments are large and airy and are fully equipped with quality furniture and fittings, so guests have everything they could possibly want and need. These apartments provide you with space, privacy and a comfortable and inviting place to relax and unwind.

At Serviced City Pads, we have many luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham ready for guests to enjoy. Our serviced apartments in Birmingham are conveniently located in various spots throughout the city and are available in a range of sizes – and suitable for a range of budgets, too.

Start Your Holiday Right

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Holidays abroad are something to look forward to for the majority of us, presenting a chance to take some hard earned time off work and relax. Many of us spend all year earning enough money to pay for our holiday and want to be able to appreciate the whole experience, from leaving our home to arriving back in the UK.

Travelling, particularly when you are flying long haul, can be a tiring experience – especially when flying from major airports such as those in Birmingham. This is the main reason for the influx of Birmingham airport hotels, as the airport is huge and many long haul flights now depart from Birmingham. To make your holiday as relaxing and enjoyable as possible, an overnight stay at one of the many Birmingham airport hotels is usually recommended. This will mean you don’t have to spend hours travelling to the airport, worrying about getting stuck in traffic jams or being on time for the flight as you will be able to book an alarm call and arrive at the airport after a short journey, refreshed and raring to go.

Birmingham airport hotels are convenient but they are also noisy, meaning that you may lose out on precious sleep leaving you feeling tired and weary on the flight and exhausted by the time you reach your destination. A stay in a hotel can also work out expensive if you have to dine out, as hotel restaurants can be expensive.

Serviced apartments in Birmingham such as ours at Serviced City Pads will give you the chance to relax and unwind in a peaceful environment, with the food of your choosing at little extra cost – followed by an all-important, uninterrupted night’s sleep. Serviced apartments in Birmingham offer much more space, relaxation and an overall more bespoke experience than any hotel.

Choosing the Right Corporate Accommodation in Birmingham

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

If you’re looking for corporate accommodation in Birmingham, then I’m sure that you’re after the best option you can find. But how can you be sure that you’re finding the right accommodation option for you?

Well, that’s largely down to personal choice, but luckily there are always plenty of options to choose from to meet your exact needs. You could be after luxury hotels, for example, which will give you all the relaxation you could be looking for with plenty of added extras thrown in for good measure.

Then theres the option of serviced apartments in Birmingham. This could be the ideal choice for people who are after that bit of extra space, or who perhaps want that “home away from home” feeling. Serviced apartments could also make the ideal corporate accommodation in Birmingham for people who are in town for a longer period of time, offering much more convenience and comfort than a hotel.

Whichever one is chosen, if you want the best it’s important to consider location. If you’re only after a quick rest-stop before getting on a plane then going for hotels near Birmingham airport would be ideal, whereas if you’ve got lots of business meetings in the centre of town then going for options that are in the vicinity would be ideal.

So, choosing the right corporate accommodation in Birmingham largely comes down to your own personal choice as well as your length of stay and purpose for being there, and if you think that serviced apartments in Birmingham would be the best option for you then make sure to see what we have to offer here  at Serviced City Pads.

Doggone: the World’s Largest Dog Show

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Rent serviced apartments in Birmingham and you’re within easy distance of the NEC – the National Exhibition Centre. Famous for its trade shows and public exhibitions, it is also the home of the world’s biggest dog show – Crufts. Whether you’re a dog lover, exhibitor or just plain curious, we at Serviced City Pads can’t imagine any better reason to book Birmingham serviced apartments than to view this yearly event.

March 2010 marks the 109th Crufts dog Show. Originally housed at London’s Kensington Olympia, Crufts switched venues in 1991, its centenary year. It has remained at the NEC ever since, and with so much accommodation in Birmingham so nearby, its no wonder that this event is so popular.  A magnet for tradespersons, exhibitors and the public alike, Crufts has faced controversy in the past, owing to some of the extreme breeding practices that used to be in practice by exhibitors. The modern approach is markedly different, with the emphasis on healthy, happy dogs and the role dogs play in society.

This year, DFS will be celebrating the relationships that exist between dogs and their owners. The most popular judging event is the Best of Show award, but the show-ring hosts a number of “doggy” events besides the winning classes. Popular attractions include rescue service demonstrations, the World Agility Championships and the Friends for Life competition, which features tales of bravery and friendship in adversity.

Crufts is amazingly good value for such a big event, and you can stretch the budget even further by ignoring the NEC chain hotels, and renting luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham from us at Serviced City Pads instead. Not only are they better value, they are far more central to Birmingham’s other attractions.

Take a trip to the NEC on your stay in Birmingham

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

One of Birmingham’s busiest venues is the National Exhibition Centre. We at Serviced City Pads guarantee you can book accommodation in Birmingham any week of the year, and there will be some trade show or public convention going on there. The NEC attracts capacity crowds every time the doors open.

If you want luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham’s NEC area, be warned that you will be near the airport and not much else, although the NEC has excellent rail and bus links.

If you are here on business, you will no doubt know the NEC well. Companies booking Birmingham serviced apartments for NEC conferences include those from the fashion, photographic, brewery, printing, food and wine industries – to name just a few.

Annual trade expos in Spring 2010 include: the 21st International PROMOTA Show (organised by the Promotional Merchandise Trade Association), the Food & Drink Expo (the UK’s largest food and drink trade exhibition), and the Off Licence Show – the only one of its kind in the UK.  Public events include the National Wedding Show, the Hobbycrafts exhibition, the International Dolls’ House Modelling Show, the Times Holiday and Travel Show and the National Outdoor Show.

Business travellers and recreational visitors alike are waking up to the fact that you can enjoy the NEC better from a distance. Trade and public exhibitions, while enjoyable, are hot, crowded and tiring. That’s why so many people jump in their cars and head for luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham’s chic city areas afterwards, in preference to overpriced local hotels.

Birmingham’s Golden Triangle – The Jewel In The City’s Crown

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

People book accommodation in Birmingham for every reason; they arrive for both work and pleasure. Once a grimy centre of the Industrial Revolution, it has many fascinating relics of those times; many of those mills, factories and warehouses today survive as museums and heritage sites.

If you’ve rented serviced apartments in Birmingham with images of “Dark Satanic Mills,” it’s important to remember that industry wasn’t always on a grand scale. Alongside the steam mills and iron foundries were artisans who used the metals and glass to create beautiful gilt buttons, toys and fine jewellery. There were at least 12 jewellery manufacturers here in the early 19th century.

Today, many of these traditions live on in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Also known as the “Golden Triangle,” this is the area bounded by Vyse Street, Dyson Street and Warstone Lane. The land was released to the city by the Colmore family, at the start of the Industrial Revolution. The result was leafy green streets of fashionable Regency and Victorian town houses and shops. Pits on Hockley Hill were used to cast metal and the jewellery industry was born.

The Gold Triangle today houses over 100 jewellery merchants. A good place to start is the Discovery Centre, which is built around the workshops of an old Jewellery Quarter firm and runs guided tours, and we can provide luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham very close nearby.

If you have a special anniversary or event coming up, we at Serviced City Pads have Birmingham serviced apartments just a few minutes away from some of the best jewellery bargains in England. A visit to the vicar of St Paul’s Church is strictly optional.

A Boating Holiday In Birmingham

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

As many people book serviced apartments in Birmingham for leisure as they do for work. Many manage to combine both – especially those with an interest in industrial archaeology. Birmingham grew from the roots of the Industrial Revolution. Now, as then, activity is based around what was once the city’s major commercial highway – its canal.

If you’ve always wondered what it’s like to steer a brightly patterned narrow boat, book into one of our Birmingham luxury serviced apartments and find out. The steam mills and factory sweatshops are long gone, but the canal still reverberates to the bargee thrum. One of the waterfront restaurants, Away2Dine, even has its own canal boat! But whether you lunch from the galley or the pub, you are sure to be enthralled by the canal-side magic. You can even take rudder yourself, with a “Novice Skipper” lesson.

One of the best ways to enjoy canal life is with a towpath ramble or bike ride. You can go for miles – but be warned. Whether on water, saddle or foot, you’re in for a hard slog; Birmingham sits on the Midland Plateau, a 200ft rise above the surrounding landscape. Canals sometimes disobey the laws of water flow. They can go uphill, which means locks – these can be interesting to watch, and can be close by if you book into accommodation in Birmingham.

We at Serviced City Pads have Birmingham serviced apartments near canal-side attractions like the National Sea Life Centre and the Ikon Gallery. If you fancy a hike then the tow path from Gas Street Station to Aldersley Junction is a fascinating history lesson.

Book A Balti Break In Birmingham

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Even though our Birmingham serviced apartments come complete with luxury fitted kitchens, we at Serviced City Pads wouldn’t blame you for leaving the cooking utensils in the drawer.  Birmingham is, of course the birthplace of the Balti curry, and the scent of sizzling spices pervades every area of the city. Of course, the kitchen facilities of our luxury serviced apartments in Birmingham are paradise for any keen cook, and the city is replete with ethnic food shops and cookery schools.

For the uninitiated, Balti is very different to other types of curry cuisine. No longer unique to Birmingham, it was nevertheless invented here – in the early 1980s. It is characterised by the fact it is both cooked and served in the same cast iron cooking pot, called the balti. The word supposedly translates as “bucket,” and there is also an area of Pakistan called Baltistan. However, no-one is sure how the word originated. What is certain is that Balti was created by Pakistani immigrants, who were intrigued by the “one-pot-wonder” of traditional northern English stews and blended this with their own delicious cuisine to create an international phenomenon.

However, it’s said a curry is not a true Balti unless it’s cooked and eaten in the “Balti Triangle” – a terraced suburb in the Stratford Road/Stoney Lane area of Birmingham. Here, you will find over 50 authentic Balti restaurants as well as dozens of ethnic food, clothing and jewellery shops.

“Balti tourism” is now big news in the city – there are even specialised Balti walking tours. So rent one of our Birmingham serviced apartments to ensure you have culinary experiences to remember.
