Visit Edinburgh Zoo for a great day out!

Monday, April 16th, 2012

As the summer is nearly upon us, trips suitable for the sunny weather ahead are playing on the minds of many people. Edinburgh is a magnificent city with many attractions. Family days out are easy to plan in the Scottish capital because there is so much to do! Edinburgh zoo is a favourite with kids and adults alike, giving visitors the opportunity to see the world’s most interesting animals.
Edinburgh Zoo is home to over 1,000 animals including giant pandas. Therefore, whatever part of the world you are interested in, there is opportunity to explore and learn about animals from that area. If you are interested in seeing the Giant Pandas featured in the Edinburgh Zoo experience, you will have to book tickets to reserve a place on the tour. These are free, but need to be booked in advance. Edinburgh Zoo is also the only zoo in the UK where you will be able to see koala bears. This is an opportunity any animal lover will grab with both hands. The Hilltop Safari is another great attraction of Edinburgh Zoo, this is an easy way to get around the zoo and is even complemented by the driver’s commentary as you travel up the hill. The Hilltop Safari is free and runs from 10 am until 3.15 pm. Although this fantastic feature is free of charge, the zoo is of course willing to accept donations for Edinburgh Zoo’s conservation fund. The safari cart holds 20 passengers, so there’s room for all your family and friends. You may even be lucky enough to see one of the extraordinary events or functions the zoo puts on; on Saturday 2nd June 2012 a photograph tour will take place where you will get the chance to see a zoo photographer get snaps of the animals in action.
If this sounds like a great plan for a summer day out, organise your trip to Edinburgh today. You’ll need to think about suitable accommodation. Why not book one of our Edinburgh holiday apartments and ensure that you can enjoy a home away from home for a reasonable price? Apartments available in Manchester for events at the Manchester Arena

Friday, April 13th, 2012

Diversity are best known as the winners of the third series of Britain’s Got Talent where they beat Susan Boyle to the top spot. However, the spectacular dance troupe also lays claim to the winning title at the Street Dance Weekend 2007. Their sensational choreography and performance technique always leaves audiences awestruck.
The group members originate from East London and Essex and include three sets of brothers as well as four other friends. It is obvious that the group know each other well as their team work and dance synchrony is without fault. The group age range varies from 14-27, meaning that each member’s individual attributes (including height) are used to give a smooth performance that complements the group work as a whole. Although older members of the public may be cynical about the appeal of a street dance troupe, Diversity are so utterly outstanding at what they do that anyone would be in awe of their performances.
Each dance routine from Diversity is full of surprises and gives an amazing twist on traditional dance routines. The famous transformers routine that was used for performance on Britain’s Got Talent sees the group use a crafty method of spacing and body popping to give the illusion that they are actually part of a machine.
Diversity put on a magnificent dance display at the Manchester Arena on 9th April. The night was outstanding! As the Manchester Arena is so huge, the atmosphere in the crowd was electric as Diversity put on a show that changed the crowd’s perception of dance. If you were lucky enough to get tickets, Diversity at the Manchester Arena will be a night you will never forget!
If you plan on going to any performance at the Manchester Arena, you will need somewhere comfortable to sleep that is within travelling distance from the Arena. Why not book one of our Manchester holiday apartments? With the guarantee of great facilities, privacy and being located in the city centre, a serviced apartment is worth booking! Madonna to play Hyde Park on the 17th July 2012

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

With the release of her new album MDNA, Madonna is set to take London by storm when she performs on 17th July 2012. This is a chance to see Madonna open-air, as the concert is booked to take place at the world renowned Hyde Park.
Madonna’s new album is already number one, and was the most sold album pre-release in itunes history. Her songs are supposedly a reflection of her feelings for ex-husband Guy Ritchie. Madonna’s tactic of dealing with a heavily publicised divorce through music has been identified as the epitome of the strength of modern women. The cleverly named MDNA allows fans to see Madonna at a new personal level, away from the glitz and glamour of fame, stripped bare to reveal an emotional rollercoaster. Many fans will have already bought the album and will relate to the raw feelings evident in her self-written lyrics. The Hyde Park gig will be an extraordinary opportunity for life-long fans to see Madonna in this new light. It is thought that gig attendees will see a performance they will never forget and one which they can really relate to. Madonna will of course perform her new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’” which features Nikki Minaj and MIA.
Apart from seeing a performance of her new album, Madonna will also reignite her classic numbers in the hearts of her fans. The Material Girl is well known for her iconic stance on the stage, laying claim to over twenty years of success in the limelight.

Manchester serviced apartments available this summer!

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

You can’t avoid hearing about Manchester’s host of entertainment venues, big football games and swanky shopping facilities. But what sometimes gets missed is the cultural days you can enjoy as a family where you might learn something you never knew…you never knew. This thriving Northern city is a hub of culture and accommodates the needs of families on day trips with its multitude of museums.
Oxford Road is the home to Manchester Museum which cites itself as family friendly. With four floors and fifteen galleries, the kids won’t be able to move for things to do and not even dad will get bored! There are many live animal displays where children can get a feel for nature, even in a big city. The Egyptology displays may interest those who are fascinated by Ancient Egyptian stories of mummies, hieroglyphics and pyramid building. This is a highly recommended day out for all the family.
If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, perhaps you’ll be more interested in the Manchester United Museum and Tour Centre. Whilst those of us who don’t have the foggiest about football might shudder at the thought, the museum is sure to give the footy fans an interesting day of fun facts. You can follow the clubs history through the museum’s displays and even get the chance to have a glimpse at the incredible trophies the team have won over the years. However, if you’re really not into football, rest assured there is an excellent refreshment area where you can recuperate and think of other things.
If you fancy having a great family weekend at one of Manchester’s museums, why not book a Manchester holiday apartment to stay in? It’ll be somewhere relaxing for the whole family to enjoy and rest. You can see the range of Manchester serviced apartments on the Serviced City Pads website. If you would like to find out what options are available for your visit, you can send us your enquiry through the site, or you can call our reservations team on 0844 335 8866.

Serviced apartments available for the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe festival

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is one of the most famous and largest arts festivals in the world. Last year’s Fringe had over 2,500 shows from 60 nations which took place in 258 venues. It’s undoubtedly one of the best things to either be part of, or visit, during the summer. Theatre and comedy are the main focus of the festival, with appearances from well-known dramatic groups and comedians as well as amateurs waiting for their big break. The arts of music and dance are also represented in the festival.
If you take the opportunity to visit the Edinburgh Fringe you will see the very best of the arts as well as alternative acts that break away from the mainstream with weird and wacky takes on theatre, comedy, music and dance. There’s always chance to see classical theatrical adaptations of William Shakespeare, but modern theatre plays a big part in the festival. Therefore, no matter what your tastes in the arts may be, you will always be satisfied.
This year, the festival will run from 3rd-27th August. This gives you the chance to check out which acts you’d really like to see, and make sure that your trip to Edinburgh will coincide with your work or university commitments.
Well known comedians Alan Davies and Rhod Gilbert are just two names among the array of outstanding line up for summer 2012. Jason Byrne from BBC Radio 2 is tipped to an act not to miss- with his new show, the clown of comedy is sure to have your sides splitting for an evening.
There is so much to see, and such a great atmosphere to take in at the Edinburgh Fringe that it’s well worth staying in the Scottish capital for at least a few days in August. If this arts festival sounds like your bag, why not have a proper Scottish get-away and stay in one of our Edinburgh serviced apartments? With great facilities and the benefit of complete privacy, you’d be bonkers not to book early to ensure you and your other Fringe-goers can sleep in comfort. To take a look at a range of Edinburgh apartment hotels, just visit the Edinburgh city page on the Serviced City Pads website.
